Brain Building Games-Not Apples & Oranges



A greengrocer ,whose organic produce market was stocked with good intentions but was losing money,complained to his suppliers that oranges were selling like 1990's tech stocks at 45 cents a pound (a fair price) ,but no one was buying his grapefruit at 60 cents a pound.Tom suggested that the greengrocer combine the two fruits,bagging them proportionately ,and selling them at 50 cents a pound.The greengrocer weighed 20 pounds of grapefruit but had no idea how many oranges would be required.But his supplier eager to sell his grapefruit , came up with the answer.Can you do this one in your head?


Hint:

Use "n" for the required number of pounds.That number times the cost per pound equals the selling price
